My Biography
Before college, Scott was introduced to the world of video production. He quickly gained interest and knowledge in the art of camera work as well as editing. During the years before college, Scott was blessed with the responsibility of editing his footage. This quickly fine tuned his skills. At Columbia College Chicago, Scott studied and was trained in the art of filmmaking. The majority of the work he did was on film; 16mm and 35mm. Scott lived and breathed filmmaking. Getting on as many production sets as possible. He took some editing classes but the majority of his time was spend with cameras and lighting. Scott took on the responsibility of Gaffer, Key Grip and Dolly Grip. His peers got to know him as dependable and knowledgeable. A jack of all trades that would keep the forward progress of the film set moving.
Towards the end of Scott’s college career, he had a four month internship with Big Shoulders Digital Video. As a Production Intern he did some of what most interns do, but for most of his time would we be sent out on shoots. Early morning SMT’s, Episodes of Design on a Dime, or in studio green screen shoots. While on set with the professional DP’s of Big Shoulders, Scott was thought of more as a grip than an intern. Once arriving on set, Scott would have his production mentality in full gear.
Scott would consider himself knowledgeable in both film production as well as video production. During his college years and up to now, Scott has being shooting and editing HD footage for many companies. Both tape formats as well as tapeless.
There have been several times that professionals and supervisors have commented on Scott’s skills and knowledge compared to his age and time out of college. Scott would contribute his skill and knowledge to the excellent training that he received from Columbia College and its great film teachers.
